John Chu is a guy who makes 3D movies. Both of his last two movies on his resume have been conceived and filmed regarding 3D, and he had hoped that he would be able to incorporate the technology into his up coming film. Seems that might not be the case after all.

I really want to do that in 3D, but the determination hasn’t been made yet. A lot of aspects that go into that, that we think it’s good to have a big discussion about. I think it’s going to be perfect for it, but there are additional factors that are built into it—how that slows you down, things such as that. But I could try some other things if it wasn’t throughout 3D; it would change our whole view of how I makes this movie, so we’re wanting to figure it out.

I feel to the guy. Sounds like someone doesn’big t want to commit the money needed to have the film prepared by the already announced launch date of August 10 2012. Special effects can take quite a while and a rush job will be noticeable so I hope that they make a reasonable decision within a fair amount of time. I’ll share a lot more news as soon as it’s obtained.
